Mind Your Gap

Hans Rosling demonstrated the power of statistics to thousands of librarians from all over the world at the IFLA Congress 2010 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The professor of sex, money and health (you can google and find him ranked first) from the Karolinska Institutet, the medical university in Stockholm, Sweden spoke with powerful words and even more powerful pictures and animations to overcome our ignorant western view of the world. With little tales like the one from the first washing machine in his home that saved his mother time to go with him to the library and borough books he touched the audience in the right spot. And washing machines will pop up in homes all over the world in the future. During the next 20 years millions of people will come to the library and borough books for the first time.
